Thirty years in retail management taught me how to read a room, talk someone down from a meltdown over a returns policy, and make a total stranger relax in under a minute. That’s the skill set I brought with me when I turned professional eighteen months ago, at 55. The setting changed. The job didn’t. I specialise in camera-shy business owners, particularly women in their 40s, 50s and beyond, because I know exactly how that discomfort feels, and exactly how quickly it passes once someone’s actually chatting to you instead of making you pose. No performance. No faff. Just properly good portraits, shot exclusively in natural light. I turn up with my camera, we have a chat, I take the photos. That’s it. Based in Mid Devon, working across the county.

I'm Henry, a web designer and developer based in Exeter. I build websites and web apps for small businesses and independents. Sometimes that's a simple one-page WordPress site. Other times it's something more involved: a booking system so people can reserve and pay without going through a third party, a private space where a team or a membership can talk to each other, or a tool that replaces the spreadsheet a business has outgrown. If you can describe what you want it to do, I can usually build it. I set up Southwest Creatives and I'm always looking for people to collaborate with. If a client needs something I don't do, I'd rather point them at someone good down here than turn the work away.

I run Top Shot Images, a CAA-licensed drone photography and videography business. I work across construction, property, architecture, events and hospitality, shooting both stills and video for clients who need something more than a standard drone flyover. My background is in film and TV camera work, which shapes how I shoot: observational, well-composed, built to tell a story rather than just tick a box. I handle airspace coordination and permissions as standard, so clients don't have to think about the regulatory side.
